Market Entry Services for Africa

Most failed Africa projects do not fail on the idea — they fail on sequencing, counterparties and paperwork. We plan your market entry, verify who you deal with, and stay with you through the first shipments, the first customers and the first twelve months.

What the engagement includes

  • Entry mode assessment: direct export, distributor, agent, joint venture or local entity
  • Prioritisation of target markets and a realistic entry sequence
  • Identification and verification of the counterparties your entry depends on
  • Documentation, customs, certification and payment-term set-up
  • Budget, timeline and milestone plan for the first 12 months
  • Hands-on support through the first transactions, with local follow-up

What you get out of it

  • A written market entry plan you can take to your board
  • Verified counterparties instead of unvetted contacts
  • Documentation and payment terms set up correctly from the first shipment
  • Fewer costly detours during the first twelve months

One standard. Two directions.

The same market entry framework applies in both directions: Scandinavian companies entering African markets, and African companies seeking market access in Scandinavia and Europe. Our fees are based on the assignment, not the client's country of origin.

Frequently asked questions

What is market entry support in practice?

It is the work between deciding to enter a market and having your first paying customer or first delivered shipment: choosing an entry mode, selecting and verifying counterparties, setting up documentation and payment terms, and following up locally.

How is this different from market research?

Market research answers whether a market is worth entering. Market entry is the execution afterwards — how you enter, with whom, in which order and on what terms.

Should we use a distributor or set up our own entity?

For most Scandinavian companies a verified distributor or agent is the right first step, with a local entity considered once volumes and demand are proven. We assess this per market rather than by default.

How long does a market entry project take?

An entry plan is typically ready in four to six weeks. Execution through the first transactions usually spans three to twelve months, depending on product, regulation and counterparty.

Which markets do you cover?

We work primarily in West Africa, with Côte d'Ivoire as our operational base, and cover additional markets through our local partner network.
